Marina Misiti’s iPhone images now exhibited in Brazil

Marina Misiti exhibits in Florianopolis (Círcolo Ítalo-Brasileiro de cultura Italiana) a series of ten photographs that are part of her ongoing iPhoneography project (ROME-BY-BUS 87/70), started in mid-2009 and exhibited as a preview inBrooklyn’s Callahan Gallery in March 2011, alongside another photographer and an artist.

Marina Misiti’s iPhone photographs from her book ‘Rome-by-bus 87/70 (through iPhone)’ present Rome from another point of view: looking out a bus window with an iPhone photo camera in hand. This point of view reveals unusual details, different lights and colors, contribuiting to re-invent and celebrate a very idiosyncratic map of the Eternal City — far beyond the well known, traditional postcard views.

Popular abroad, the pop-up phenomenon reaches the Italian capital, and I accepted to show one of my iPhone Photo Project in this first pop-up exhibition in Rome.

For this event a private space in the very historic centre become an art gallery for a limited amount of time: 3 hours. The exhibit will be hung in this space to infuse it with life and energy and 20 of my prints were shown in this first iPhoneography exhibition in Rome (after my first one in New York some months ago!).

In this new setting I’ll show a cross section of my photographic images shot and processed with my iPhone4, photo objects and my photo books, choosing ‘Rome through iPhone‘ as a theme.

So, for one night only on Thursday 28 July, my works will be on show in Rome.

Runs July 28, 2011 Entrance free, all welcome
vlo del Bollo, 12, Rome.
Open times: 7pm – 10pm

Yeah…. it’s official: YALE magazine “Reflections” (Spring 2011) has selected my own image for their Spring 2011 Issue!!!

So excited…. my picture (taken in New York last September just in front of a work of Barry McGee at the Bowery, not far from Nolita shopping area, part of my FASHION DISTRICTS PROJECT and also the cover of my photo book on “New York Citybook”),  was spotted in a show in December 2010 in NEW YORK, at the Durst Organization’s Show Walls Gallery, right next to ICP, in Avenue of the Americas at 43rd Street… remember it?

“Rome-by-bus 87.70″ now exhibited in New York

In “Perspectives on Time” I exhibit, among others, the cover of my just printed “Rome-by-bus 87.70 (through iPhone)“, my recent iphone photo-book.

Featured by fLIP  here online (London Indipendent Photography) and E’Lifestyle, this project is focused on daily life of all commuters, students and tourists in Rome, and suggest to look at the city from another point of view: looking out a bus window in this way reveals wholly new perspectives and original reflects on Roman history and archaeology.
