BIO

I’m a journalist, a blogger and an eclectic visual artist based in Rome, Italy. I graduated with honours from La Sapienza University (Rome) in Literature and Philosophy, specializing in Visual Anthropology and, recently, in Marketing Web 2.0. Having left the corporate media world upon travelling as a writer, photographer and stylist – focused on travel, interiors & lifestyle -, I spent most of my life going back and forth between native Italy and other Countries.

ABOUT WRITING: today, I’m an online journalist and a ghost blogger. For the last two decades I have written extensively for publications such as “Marie Claire”, “Elle”, “Grazia”, “Gioia”, “Nigrizia”, “Viaggiando”, “E’Lifestyle”, and also “Paese Sera”, “Sette/Corriere della Sera”, “www.mondadori.com”, amongs many others, as a feature writer & contributing editor; I also worked for publishing houses as an author (Astraea Editrice), a creative director (Theoria, etc.), and a press officer (RAI tv, Ministers, etc.).  In 2008 I launched the widely read blogDonne con la valigia, which led to the publication of my book “Donne con la valigia” (The Little Pink Book, Astraea Ed, 2009).

ABOUT VISUAL: I created the MUP City Guides, a long-term project based on my emotional visual maps: some of these urban images “Mappe Urbane Personali” have been exhibited at the International Photo Festival of Corigliano C. 2008, at the Emilio Greco Museum in Sabaudia (MadphotoDonna 2009), in the ViaGiulia95 Gallery, Rome (2010);  in New York City at  MACY’S Store, Herald Sq Broadway/34th Street, for “A Woman’s World”, 2011 (in celebration of Women’s History Month with Pwp). From “Fashion Districts”-MUP I exhibited in a London Lip Event Slideshow (2011) and again in New York City (“Art of Commerce” Pwp Exhibition, 2010, Manhattan Borough President Gallery, and “New Visions” exhibition, Durst org Gallery 2010-2011), and from “Urban Colors Collection”-MUP I exhibited a work in Latina (Italy), at laranarossa Gallery (“Affari di cuore”, 2011). Most of my artwork today is shot and processed on IPHONE: I’ve been one of the first Italian artist to exhibit iphoneography works (The Callahan Gallery, St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, NEW YORK, March 2011; the First iPhoneography Pop-up event in ROME, July 2011;  Círcolo Ítalo-Brasileiro de cultura Italiana, FLORIANOPOLIS, and BRUSQUE, Brazil, 2011). I also published 4 photo books in a limited edition (three illustrated travel guides from MUP Project: New York, Tokyo, London; and one from Rome-by-bus 87/70 iphone photo project).

I’m an Italian Professional Journalist, a PWP (Professional Women Photographers) member, and a LIP (London Indipendent Photography) member. I was awarded the Fata Morgana Photoreportages Prize by the LIONS CLUB in 2006, and I received the Woman of the Year 2008 Award by Aljon Publisher.

The inspiration for my creative projects and storytelling practice outside the confines of traditional documentary and photojournalism, comes from extensive travel, avid reading, love for lifestyle and interior design and my professional background in cultural anthropology.
